Foreman Salary: low-midŁ20'sk with car, bonus, pension Construction company are looking for a Civils Foreman. Overall purpose of the job: Ensure works are completed to programme in a safe, cost effective manner and to an appropriate quality standard, supervising men on site. Position in structure: Reporting to Site Manager/Site Agent and responsible for the supervision and control of the Operatives on his project. Competencies: QUALITIES: Physical Attributes: Must be physically fit, with hearing and sight up to PTS medical standards (with or without glasses). Attainments / Qualifications: Needs a City and Guilds qualification in relevant branch of the industry (eg Piling, Fabrication etc). Should have a minimum of 10 yrs in industry, with trade background and site experience. Safety Training: Must have been on a CITB 2 Day Site Supervisor's Safety Course, though attendance on a CITB 5 Day Site Manager's Safety Course is preferable. Needs to possess a good knowledge of site issues and Company Safety Management Systems. Should also have been on a Scaffold Appreciation course. Special Skills: Must have good verbal and written communication skills, needs basic admin skills and problem-solving skills. Should be able to use own initiative and work unsupervised. Work Attitudes: Should be aware of importance of health and safety in work place, be a good team-player, and be able to take and give orders. Overall, should be ambitious and wish to progress. Disposition: Must be reliable, trustworthy, responsible and flexible. Job Circumstances: Some weekend work and overtime will be necessary. Key Result Areas: 1. Safety: Ensure the company's Safety Procedures are fully implemented on the specific project. 2. Commercial: Maintain all the necessary records and documentation in accordance with the company's procedures. Ensure subcontractors and suppliers perform in accordance with their specific contracts for the project. Organise the site works in accordance with the Contract Programme and the Project Quality Plan to ensure the most economical methods are used in achieving the contract requirements. Monitor materials incorporated into the works to ensure compliance with the Contract Specification and Project Quality Plan. 3. Resources: Maintain adequately trained staff and labour on the Project and maintain site rules and regulations. Monitor and supervise subcontract resources ensuring that they utilise appropriate staff and labour for their specific works.
