This company are looking for a Lead Project Engineer. They are looking for experience in: Detailed knowledge of control and safety system applications and integration for the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or pharmaceutical industries. Site experience an advantage. Understanding of the requirements of Functional Safety Management to IEC 61508. Experience of control system design and commercial management throughout the project lifecycle from initial design concepts through to installation and subsequent client support. Control and monitoring of major sub-contracts within the project scope. Software design experience of control systems with PLC (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc or Siemens), HMI (Cimplicity, InTouch or Plantscape) or DCS (Honeywell, Yokagawa or Delta V) based platforms. Experience of third party systems integration. Knowledge of communications protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet or Genius). Hardware design experience relating to control system equipment (panels, control desks and control rooms) and integration of other manufacturers equipment. Hazardous Area Design and specification / selection of F&G equipment. Understanding of Control and Instrumentation. Demonstrable evidence of similar work performed to a competent standard over a period of at least 5 years. Job Requirements: Provide engineering expertise to lead implementation of appropriate engineering solutions from client specifications. To liaise with clients and suppliers. To perform work in compliance with the company’s QA Standards and Procedures. Continuous measurement and control of work practises to define strategies for process improvement. Plan, schedule, coordinate and monitor resources for project activities including setting and managing time-scales and budgets. Provide verbal and written reports to communicate project status as required and contribute to project review meetings. Provide a Technical Authority role for multiple projects, including the performance of Design Reviews. Line management and mentoring of junior staff. Support departmental appraisals and recruitment. Team player with the ability to motivate and encourage team project members. Qualifications: A Degree/HND or similar qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. Member of a Professional Engineering Body (e.g. IEE), or actively seeking membership. Computer literate, with experience of PC-based word-processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
