This company based in Staffordshire seek an experienced senior M&E design manager to join our management team to influence the key decision making processes which will impact on the financial close of North Staffs Hospital with continued involvement scheduled to mid-2007, encompassing design management and project delivery.
This high profiled role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with a proven track record in managing major M&E packages for large construction projects to join an expanding company whose vision is to:

Reporting to the Project Leader responsibilities and duties fall into three main categories:
assisting the Project Leader in discharging their responsibilities and duties for M&E building services on the project;
maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with all stakeholders;
management of the design process
Early involvement on the project will therefore focus on the following aspects of design management and co-ordination:
implementation of the Groups Health and Safety and environment policies;
input into establishing project design co-ordination procedures and a matrix of design responsibilities;
negotiating design consultants specific scope of services;
assessment of designers competency, human resources, IT and CAD capability;
assistance in compilation of the project design handbook and master design programme;
establishing and implementing document management systems;
input into the compilation of subcontract packages for tender and comment on vendors submissions;
producing a schedule of design deliverables;
indentification and selection of additional designers outside the main design team;
review, comment and input into the cost plan;
manage the interface between design and work package management ensuring consistency between the two at all times
Key Skills:
an M&E specialist with an extensive working knowledge of design management and construction delivery including
- quality control
- programme management
- cost control
excellent communication and influencing skills;
highly effective in time management and chairing of meetings;
the ability to maintain a clear understanding of the responsibilities assigned to client, designers and vendors with particular retained focus on the contractors design portion. |
