Minimum Qualifications:
a) Degree, Incorporated or near/Chartered status preferred; plus,
b) Minimum of 5 years experience taking project engineer responsibilities.
Recent Past Experience:
Detailed Highway Design using the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Local Authority Design Guides.
Working knowledge of Section 38/ 278 procedures for roads.
Knowledge and use of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works including the Specification for Highway Works.
Knowledge and use of various forms of contract including ICE Conditions of Contract.
Knowledge of project management, cost control and quality assurance procedures.
Proven experience in producing deliverables on time and within budget.
Supervision of site works.
Use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
In addition, experience in using at least one of the following would be preferred: MX (Moss), PDS, Autotrack, AutoSign.
Specific Requirements:
Knowledge and ability sufficient to provide key technical input in the design of highway and highway related schemes.
Data collection and analysis involving site visits, surveys and use of appropriate computer software.
Preparation of detailed and budget estimates.
Preparation of contract documents.
Production and checking of drawings, specifications, reports and calculations in accordance with the appropriate design standards and Quality Assurance procedures.
Attendance and work with internal and external design teams and clients.
Liaison with utility companies, statutory authorities and other government organisations.

Good written and oral skills.
