Job Description
Working in the geotechnical division you will be involved with a variety of projects and disciplines. Your role will be to provide CAD support to the different divisions, taking responsibility for drawing production from inception to issue. Work will include technical & presentation drawings, layouts, sections and detail work.
You will be creating geological sections using the KeyHOLE software package. You will also have an additional role providing CAD and topographical surveying support as a topographical surveying assistant to our surveying team.
You will be required to undertake both rail and road site surveying tasks. Although no previous surveying experience is necessary, you will be required to work away from the office as an important member of the surveying team, and then be responsible for the CAD completion of the site survey.
It is expected that your working time will be equally split between CAD and surveying duties. You will also be involved in the expansion and development of our Geographical Information Systems (GIS) operated on major projects.
Requirements
Must be competent in, or willing to learn, AutoCAD.
Experience in Civil Engineering or in one of the following areas would be beneficial:
Reinforcement concrete detailing
Geotechnics
Ground modelling
KeyHOLE and KeyTERRA-FIRMA software
Microsoft Access
Data management
Software development or in the use of GIS.
