Main purpose of the job:
To provide design and technical advice in all disciplines for estimating and construction purposes within the company.
Key Tasks:
Prepare designs in accordance with Works Procedures.
Provide technical and design support to all departments.
Contribute to the continued improvement of the design process within the department.
Knowledge and Experience required:
Minimum of 3 years specific Geotechnical Design.
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form both internally and externally.
Working knowledge of the latest geotechnical and structural design methods and design codes, in particular retaining walls and piling foundations.
Working knowledge of construction processes, methods and site practices.
Understanding of designer`s role and responsibilities under current legislation.
Ability to identify, assess and highlight technical and commercial risks.
Strong I.T skills, in particular a good working knowledge of Wallap Software.
Will be office based, but travel to sites across the U.K. may be necessary. |
