(To start operational training in England before being based in Ireland).
Role:
Initially the successful applicant will be trained to develop skills in two areas (i) carrying out site visits and trial pit inspections, design, estimating, budget pricing, tendering and order negotiation with a range of customers (ii) all aspects of site project management, including technical, contractual, cost and communication supervision and monitering. Early emphasis will be on solutions to a wide variety of foundation support problems including ground improvement and piling applications. Later involvement will extend further into other geotechnical activities of the Company and eventually to considerable responsibility for project management on developments using these specialist techniques.
Location:
For the first twelve to eighteen months, the position will be based mainly on either of the main offices in Coventry or Wetherby. Thereafter the base would be in Belfast, assisting and reporting to the Regional Manager. As capability and responsibility develops, the work will progressively be performed to a greater extend in the Irish Republic, probably based in their Dublin office.
Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will be a recent graduate or postgraduate Civil Engineer with an affinity for, or established interest in, geotechnical engineering, an aptitude for both technical and commercial aspects of the discipline and preferably an awareness of the Irish construction industry. Full ongoing product and project management training will be given, to include ICE approved training for chartership where appropriate.
