My client are a world leading geotechnical specialists with a reputation for quality and innovation within the field of foundation and underground engineering. Their techniques include bored and displacement piling, diaphragm walls, grouting, mini piling, anchors, ground improvements and environmental engineering.
They have positions available in West Drayton (Bucks) and Burscough (Lancashire).
Working in their busy Commercial Department, your key tasks will include:
Supporting sites with commercial assistance.
Placing sub contracts.
Interim applications and final accounts.
Identification and preparation of variations and claims.
Internal reporting.
Commercial reviews of tenders and contracts.
Chasing payments.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
Responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects including contract terms, valuations, claims and payments.
Relevant surveying degree with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in Civil Engineering.
Membership of relevant professional body e.g. RICS or ICES, would be an advantage.
Experience gained from working for a Contractor or Sub contractor.
Knowledge of contract forms.
Ability to review contracts and negotiate amendments.
Negotiation skills.
Good communicator and team player.
Strong I.T skills and commercial awareness.
Providing commercial guidance to other members of the team.
Post holder will have to display initiative and have confident in their decisions.
