The key objective of this role is to provide engineering support for all product improvements and new product developments of the product portfolio.
My client are looking for a product development CAD designer with experience in a similar position.
You will need to be able to design/draw from initial product briefings through to production with direct involvement in materials and processes for manufacturing.
Working closely with the development team you will ensure the efficient and smooth running of specific projects/tasks from the design of components/required drawings, to the organisation of samples, product testing and into production tooling.
You will have an understanding of production practices/machinery and experience in working closely with production regarding NPD related issues. You will be responsible for ensuring that effective solutions are implemented to facilitate production whilst ensuring products meet their specifications and quality standards.
You will be:
Responsible for the lifecycle of all product developments, ensuring all issues emerging during a product`s life cycle are dealt with quickly and effectively.
Proactive in product development, solving problems/providing solutions to meet customers needs.
Creative in your approach to product development, contributing to what makes a product easily marketable.
Designing with cost and quality targets in mind.
Producing designs that are appropriate for efficient manufacture.
Seeking out and resolving product issues in an efficient manner.
Attentive to detail and have good organization and communication skills.
SKILLS:
2D and 3D CAD design experience essential.
Electrical and/or mechanical engineering - strong skills in detailed engineering drawings preferred.
Experienced with Solidedge / SolidWorks CAD software is a definite advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Able to manage and control all documentation required to complete projects on schedule. Keep all NPD documentation up to date with all relevant changes.
Capable to provide product designs that improve/aid manufacturing process.
Ensure products are developed to meet specific industry requirements/regulations.
Effective time keeping management to ensure objectives are completed by due date.
