The Company is a successful private family business established in 1946. They are the UK market leaders in the design and manufacture of street furniture, cycle shelters and covered walkways. THE ROLE: The Company is seeking a fully experienced Projects Engineer to join their existing team within the Contracts Department. Suitable candidates will be commercially aware and ideally have experience in the construction industry. Knowledge of steel structures and fabrication techniques would be an advantage. Based within their main office in Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme you will be actively involved in a number of exciting and challenging projects, primarily involving the design, manufacture and installation of Shelters, Walkways and other covered areas. The main responsibilities are: Ø Scrutinisation of job file paperwork to identify any contents requiring attention of Contracts Manager, such as any potential contractual documentation or terms and conditions etc. Ø Issuing of programmes to internal departments and to clients. Ø Clarifying scope of supply to client to ensure their understanding of what they will be receiving. Ø Creation and subsequent revision, if necessary, of project programmes in the Projects module of Microsoft AX. Ø Chasing drawing approvals. Ø Liaison with clients to obtain any outstanding information required for continuity of the project e.g. colour and any planning approval confirmation. Ø General contracts administration including confirmation emails or letters. Ø Progressing contracts through various internal departments, from design to installation. Ø Use of drawing office data viewing software to identify and verify scope of supply. Ø Compilation of method statements and risk assessments. Ø Compilation of Operation and maintenance manuals Ø Processing of sales order amendment forms. You will receive a professional induction into the business and thorough one to one product training. Specific training in all the above processes would be carried out by the Contracts Managers and opportunities to attend various on site client meetings would be regular.
